| GET LINKED AT A RINK ! If marching down the aisle of a church trussed up like Queen Victoria wearing an excruciatingly uncomfortable pair of white satin Manolo Blahniks is your idea of a trip to hell, why not consider getting married on skates? Whether you prefer blades, quads or ice skates, gliding down the aisle at your favorite rink is a great way to mate! Most skate rinks rent for around $300. Any skate floor can be configured with folding chairs on either side of a center aisle. A lovely floral adorned lattice arch or portable chupa could be set up. Your wedding party could be on skates and your guests could choose to skate or walk. Your reception could be right there, with skating instead of dancing. Sounds like fun doesn't it? Oh, yes, and in case you're looking for a minister who'll do your vows on skates - call Reverend Karyl! Los Angeles Rinks Dominic's Moonlight Rollerway, Glendale 5110 San Fernando Road (818) 241-3630 It's not new or modern, but Moonlight has the wonderful charm of a rink arrested in time. If your wedding has a 1950s theme, you won't have to change a thing. There's a huge wood floor, plenty of room for tables and, of course, a mirrored ball. This rink has been used in many movies and TV commercials and can be dressed up as you wish. The rink's owner, Dominic Congolosi still plays live organ music on Tuesday nights. Maybe he can be persuaded to play for your wedding! Otherwise there's always recorded music. Large parking lot. |
